Il Southwest Jiaotong University President Scholarship is open; apply now. Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) was founded in 1896 and is one of China’s oldest higher education institutions. Known as the cradle of China’s railway engineers, or “The Cornell of the East,”  SWJTU is the birthplace of China’s modern education in transportation, mining & metallurgy, and civil engineering. Through its history, the university has adopted different names, such as “Imperial Chinese Railway College at Shanhaiguan by Beiyang Railway Bureau,”  “Tangshan Jiaotong University,”  and “Tangshan Institute of Railway.”.

SWJTU is a premier engineering university, being on the list of China’s first batch of 211 project universities. It is also a university in the “985 Project Innovation Platform on Rail Transit & Transportation Engineering.”. The university focuses on a balanced development of multidisciplinary subjects in engineering, science, business management, finance, art, and law.

It is one of China’s top universities, with a government-ratified Graduate School under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education. Today, there are three campuses: Chengdu Jiuli, Chengdu Xipu, and Emei. All three campuses are located at the feet of Emei Mountain. SWJTU boasts a well-developed student training system granting bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees.

SWJTU achieves remarkable results in cultivating internationalized talents. It has forged long-term partnerships with 166 universities and institutions across 54 countries and regions. This list includes the International Union of Railways, Cornell University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Technical University Munich. It runs overseas programs in cooperation with the United States and France. SWJTU is a member school of the Erasmus Mundus Program and a contract university of programs administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC). 1: Notarized highest diploma;

Prospective diploma recipients must submit an official document issued by their current school to prove their current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

2: academic transcripts (scritto in cinese o inglese);

Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

3: A study plan or Research Proposal (scritto in cinese o inglese);

This should be a minimum of 200 words for undergraduate program applicants and 800 words for postgraduate program applicants.

4: Two recommendation letters (scritto in cinese o inglese)

Applicants for the undergraduate  and postgraduate programs must submit two recommendation letters signed by professors or associate professors.

5: A copy of the applicant’s passport; please carefully plan your passport for more than 6 months.

6: A CD of your own works(richiesto solo per studenti di arti);

Applicants for music studies are requested to submit a CD of their own musical works. Applicants for the fine arts programs must submit a CD of their own works, which include two sketches, two color paintings, and two other works.

Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant documents about their statutory guardians in China.

8: Foreign Physical Examination Form (photocopy) The original copy will be kept by yourself, and the form is uniformly printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments. It must be written in English and can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchinaohttp://www.campuschina.org.
