The People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region established the Guangxi Government Scholarship for ASEAN Students in 2024 with the intention of funding students and research scholars from ASEAN nations who wish to enroll in higher education institutions in Guangxi or conduct scientific research there, as well as to expand and develop international exchanges and educational cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN nations.

奖学金类别和申请人要求

The scholarship is divided into two categories: a full scholarship and an outstanding student award.
(1) 全额奖学金
The full scholarship is designed for students from ASEAN countries who are to study in the universities of Guangxi for bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degrees. Recipients of the scholarship will enjoy exemptions for such fees as registration, tuition, textbooks and other teaching materials, accommodation, and insurance for diseases and accidents. In addition, they will also get living expenses by month.
(2) 优秀学生奖
The outstanding student award is given to self-funded students from ASEAN countries who will receive their education in the universities of Guangxi for one year or longer and are excellent both in moral character and study.

Guangxi Government Scholarship for ASEAN Students: Requirements for Applicants

（一）学士学位奖学金：申请人应
have graduated from a senior high school, have an outstanding academic record, and are aged below 25 years old.
(2) Scholarship for Master’s Degree: applicants should have a bachelor’s degree and an outstanding academic record. They must be recommended by two professors or associate professors and be underthe age of 35.
(3) Scholarship for Ph.D. degree: applicants should have a Master’s degree and an outstanding academic record. They must be recommended by two professors or associate professors and be underthe age of 40.
(4) Besides the requirements above, applicants should also have the level of proficiency in Chinese needed for taking classes. For those whose Chinese does not meet their needs, they will be arranged to study in the Chinese language program for as long as one school year. All applicants must abide by the Chinese laws, regulations, and rules of the universities and be in good health.

The application must be made from March through June each year. The deadline for a full scholarship application is June 30th, and for outstanding student awards, the deadline is March 10th.

Guangxi Government Scholarship for ASEAN Students: Documents Required

(1) 全额奖学金文件
（一种）。 《Guangxi Government Full Scholarship Application Form for ASEA Students filled out in Chinese or English (see Appendix 1).
(b). Authenticated Certificate of Highest Education and the grade report or the academic record.
（C）。 学习或研究计划（中文或英文）。
(d). Recommendation letters by two professors or associate professors (Chinese or English) for Master’s or Ph.D. degree applicants only.
(e). Foreigner Physical Examination Form (see Appendix 3).
（二）优秀学生奖文件
（一种） 《Guangxi Government Outstanding Student Scholarship Application Form for ASEAN Students filled out in Chinese or English (see Appendix 2).
(b) The academic record for the last term and the HSK certificate.
