“For those who have not attested their degrees yet,”
HEC has launched an online system for degree attestation effective May 29, 2024. This system is far better than the old one.
Step 1: Make an account at the given HEC portal.
http://eportal.hec.gov.pk/hec-portal-web/auth/login.jsf
Step 2: Complete your personal profile and education profile.
Step 3: Upload your final certificates, degrees, and transcripts from Matric onward (including Matric Certificate)
Step 4: Click on the “Apply for Degree Attestation” tab, and then select the degree you want to attest.
(HEC only attest Bachelor’s / Master’s transcripts or degrees and NOT Matric / Intermediate certificates.)
Step 5: Your degree or transcript (which you selected for attestation) will be scrutinized by the HEC Attestation Team (usually it takes 8 to 10 days, depending on the workload). Once they verify your degree, you will receive an SMS or email to schedule your appointment date and time at the “Dashboard” tab. Here you will also have to select HEC Regional Centre where you will visit, i.e. either Karachi, Islamabad, etc.
Step 6: Print the application form and Challan form and visit the HEC regional centre on the scheduled date along with your CNIC copy, original set of degrees, + 1 SET copy (identical to the original) from Matric onwards.
Step 7: Get tokens and wait for your turn. Pay fees and submit all documents to the counter. They will give you back a stamped challan copy and tell you to collect your attested degree + (originally submitted degrees) after 3–4 hours (same day). (Time will be mentioned on your challan copy.).
Fees:
Original (degree/transcript) : PKR 800/= (per document)
Copy (degree/transcript) : PKR 500/= (per document)
You don’t have to attest your Matric/Intermediate Certificates from IBCC. HEC require these certificates just to support your final degree.
